The Stone Collective is a community making much of Jesus as we create art, photography, prose, poems or music that commemorate the wonderful things God does in our life.

Based on the passage in 1 Samuel 7:12-14, each month we will collect Ebenezer Stones as a regularly practice in the art of worship via our creativity.

For me, Cherie Wilson~ this month happened to bring the reminder that God gives us the desires of our heart.  He put them there and he knows us intimately and as we follow to discover that treasure that enlivens us,  He.Is.There.  Delighting in us!
Check out the photos below.......
My dear dog loving, kennel owner friend Lisa Huntley, commissioned me to create something for her. With Intuitive painting, this can be an exciting challenge, since you never what you will get!  I had pulled the above picture from an ad some time ago. Before Lisa inquired.  But I liked it.....  it was a beautiful dog and I decided to use this pups colors in the intuitive process to get me going.

After a bit, little Nala started to show up.  It was a fun and lively process and came easier than some intuitive pieces do............
and would you believe (here is where the story gets good) that when I texted Lisa a picture of the progression, She had just rescued a sweet Doggie this same breed? The one in my inspiration piece!!  Her name is Nala. She is much more crème than gray so I was able to add the color that I knew was missing. Intuitively that is!
Here is Nala.......
She's such a sweetie!  If you are in the area, she is ready for her new home soon!

Lisa and I were reminded that God see's the need of every person, and every creature and He humbly uses all of us thru the desires of our heart. Desires that he already placed there when he created us, to use for His good in the world.
Collectively. Corporately.  Lisa's heart and my Art. This is a stone I will always remember. God Bless!
Psalms 37:4  "Delight yourselves in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart."
Zephaniah 3:17 "The Lord your God is with you. He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, and will rejoice over you with singing."

I hope to participate in the Stone Collective every month.  Want to join us?  Stop by Sarah’s blog here for more information.

It's Cherie here........... Posting for the Stone Collective! I love Art Journaling~  Heart Art I call it. My friend Dr Susan Pauly and I are teaching it at  the local Crisis Pregnancy Center today. That word Crisis,  stands out to me.  How many times have I been in CRISIS? More importantly how many times have I been SAVED, HEALED, DELIVERED and more from CRISIS?!
When I was asked to be a part of Sarah"s Stone Collective (link above) I knew that Remembering would be good.  So I will be sharing, along with many other talented ladies,  Remembrance stones near the end of each month and I hope you will be inspired to remember as well.  If you are in Crisis right now, HE IS ABLE. I hope you enjoy this first Art Heart page below. I recently made this layered book cover, and pondered Habakkuk 3:19.  It's scribbled on a page and posted to my Studio door.  He makes me strong! He showed me art.......... and he is making me stronger ever increasingly. Even if I don't feel it today. Even if I am in Crisis. He is constantly making the path before me straightened.  As I go, I am strengthened! You too, friends!

Purely Intuitive Painting
We will simply dig in to a generous canvas
as I direct you in playful mark- making with Acrylic paint.
We will add color, layer upon layer in the colors you choose.
This very organic process with little expectation but a lot of exploration.
Often, an image will emerge (see images above)and with this discovery we will discuss how to define this with additional paint & additional technique.
I've found this to be a very joyful and therapeutic process and can't wait to share it!
Cost is $100.
This is a Four hour class.
Saturday February 8th  12-4:00pm

Bird and Branch
We will create this fun project on a wooden panel from a bird image you bring to class, or one (of plenty) I have on hand.
After I help you (if you need it) with a simple bird outline, we'll paint it with fluid acrylic paint.
Next, I will introduce you to various mediums
and we will build some really interesting layered and textured backgrounds, and then the bird itself.
Your darling bird will be unique to you , and many times, whimsical!
( As the pink bird painting shown above, along with the other two images which are  works in progress)

Cost is $75.
This is a 3 hour class.

that I think will inspire you to make more!
Each face is unique and a bit whimsical, and I 've never met a face I didn't like!

Charlotte Lyons Stitch Kit

Charlotte provided excellent kits with this old quit, linens, bird pattern, embroidery floss, and best of all her own new fabric line!

Awwwww Ma Mere Cherie..... her fabric has my name on it!!  Sweeeeeet!
Surprise, Dearest Charlotte!  I used one of her regifted (to me) thrift finds.... a silverware roll to add another fabric element and something I have always wanted to do.......
.......Create a stitch-on-the-go kit!!  The kit that inspired me was by Rebecca Sower and was showcased in Somerset.  Hers was in a vintage travel case. So pretty, but I love this softie one.
The silverware roll added a place to store bits and baubles for future projects in plastic tubes.

A deep pocket full of ribbons, and a wider pocket for projects started.  Hmmm now let me see....
Isn't that Rebecca's stamp in there?  Why yes, it is! Going to embroider that next.......and finish her project from French Generals The Art of Craft Weekend.  Yes, it too will be in this front pocket, along with many more stitching projects in the future.  Thank You Charlotte for such a precious piece!  Other than Trueman, I see is as my new constant companion.  Love this artful journey, don't you?? XO
